A range of accommodation options are available at the conference venue and at other locations near Shoal Bay.
RECOMMENDED ACCOMMODATION
The recommended accommodation is the conference venue, Shoal Bay Resort and Spa. Please use the Booking Form to ensure you receive the conference rate (this booking form is only for Shoal Bay Resort and Spa). Please print out the booking form and fax it to +61 2 49841315. The resort has a limited number of rooms, so please book early if you wish to stay here. If you can arrange to share, the 2-bedroom apartments are good value.
ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION
Please contact these establishments directly to arrange your accommodation, using the weblinks provided. Approximate prices are provided as a rough guide but you should check when you contact them.
Group A: alternative accommodation within easy walking distance. There are two establishments offering reasonably priced accommodation within 200 metres of the conference venue:
- The Santa Catalina Motel (http://www.holidayonline.com.au/shoal-bay-accommodation/santa-catalina-motel.html) has a small number of family-type rooms from roughly $90.
- The Shoal Bay Holiday Park has villas with ensuites for an ASERA rate of roughly $120 per night (http://www.beachsideholidays.com.au/shoalBay.phtml).
Group B: alternative accommodation with shuttle bus to the conference. There are several other establishments offering reasonably priced accommodation 1-2 km from the conference venue. Some of these have offered an ASERA discount, so please tell them you are with the conference. A shuttle bus will transport delegates to and from these establishments only, in the mornings and evenings (please request the shuttle bus on your conference registration form). Alternatively, there are taxis available (ph 49846699).
- Admiral Nelson Motor Inn (http://www.admiralnelson.com.au/) has rooms from roughly $90.
- Peninsula Nelson Bay (http://www.peninsulanelsonbay.com.au/) has budget rooms from roughly $80, and four star rooms from roughly $109.
- Beaches Serviced Apartments (http://www.beachesportstephens.com/) from roughly $100 per night.
- Leilani Serviced Apartments (http://www.portstephens.org.au/leilani) has rooms from roughly $110 per night.
- Shoal Bay Beach Club Apartments (http://www.shoalbaybeachclub.com.au) has rooms from roughly $125 per night.
- Casablanca at Little Beach (http://www.portstephens.org.au/casablanca) has apartments from roughly $110 per night.
- Halifax Holiday Park (http://www.beachsideholidays.com.au/halifax.phtml) has villas from roughly $115.
Group C: Alternative accommodation requiring private transport. Other accommodation is available in the Nelson Bay area but for these you will need to make your own arrangements for daily transport to the conference. The Port Stephens Motor Lodge (http://www.portstephensmotorlodge.com.au) which has rooms from roughly $95 per night, is one of these options.
