2020 Contemporary Approaches to Research Symposium

Hello colleagues,

The Contemporary Approaches to Research Symposium is going ahead this year. We have shifted to an online format over three mornings (9am – 1pm) from Monday the 23rd to Wednesday the 25th November, 2020.

We appreciated the ASERA experience and have opted for a similar practice of pre-recorded presentations (10-12 minutes) followed by the usual CAR deep methodological discussion.  Pre-recorded presentations are due on the 13th November. CAR presentations focus on methodological explorations.

We are excited to confirm our two keynote speakers: Jill Brown (Deakin University) and Michael Tan (National Institute of Education, Singapore).

Expressions of Interest to present at the CAR close on the 2nd October (see link below). Confirmation of acceptance will be sent mid October and the program confirmed by the end of October.

Please register – only those who register will receive the meeting links.

This year’s event is free.

We are excited to include a virtual book launch for the Methodological Approaches to STEM Education Research – Volume 1 on Monday 23rd Nov at 1pm.  This book is the first in a series of edited books, published by Cambridge Scholars, that present selected chapters developed from CAR presentations.

We will invite authors to develop chapters from our 2020 presentations for Volume 2… specifics to come.

Details are here https://deakinsteme.org/event-category/car-symposiums/

Please forward the flier for the CAR Symposium (attached) to your colleagues.

Looking forward to seeing you virtually in November.

Best wishes

Peta with Russell, Joe, and John.
